'Blood and Roses'

by Yash Sinojia

He escalated all the ranks and drudgeries

To attain a status where he was proficient

Enough to fight for his true love.

The one that he had awaited patiently

Without attempting any flamboyant efforts.

But one day a raven came from distant lands,

And all his struggles were in vain.

She was taken over by a leviathan, the indomitable.

He realised in grief: the rose,

The rose that he had nurtured

for heretofore, had no roots!

Much Ado About Nothing!

He was enervated by melancholy.

Never wished to begin it in the first place

but the odds were at its peak

And the world against him.

Though all, a desire kept burning bright

Antithetical to his belief of peacefulness,

For he has his own insecurities,

Desperateness that will wage wars

Among the allies, among their own people

And there will be blood and cataclysm.

For every visibly glittering opportunity,

There is a deliberate act of betrayal.
